ePHOTOzine member MandyD
has been crowned this week's Photo of the Week (POTW) winner.
The POTW is picked by ePHOTOzine's founder and Editorial Director, Peter Bargh, once a week and here's why he thought MandyD
's photo, 'Oil and water', was a worthy winner:
"We don't get too many shots that are either close up or abstract winning POTW. But this one caught my eye as being incredibly competent technically as well as being a beautiful image. Oil on water is fairly easy to photograph, but it's not so easy to end up with such a clean and interesting shot like this."
"I like the centrally placed bubble that's on the lower third of the horizontal lines. And the bright orange background that is reflected in the main bubble. Two large bubbles add the abstract V shape and make the whole bubble look as though it's resting in the crevice with a little one clinging on below. Any other bubble that usually disrupts the larger voids were either carefully avoided in the oil/water mix or cloned out. A good example of abstract wall art that may be even stronger with a crop from the top and left side."
POTW winners currently receive a £100 voucher from Pixum online photo printing
