ePHOTOzine member DaveTurner
has been crowned this week's Photo of the Week (POTW) winner.
The POTW is picked by ePHOTOzine's founder and Editorial Director, Peter Bargh, once a week and here's why he thought DaveTurner
's photo, 'Invisible
', was a worthy winner:
"A poignant take on street photography. Here we see the wheel-chaired man in the foreground and consider it with an uplifting or sombre mood, depending on our desired viewpoint. He may be frustrated at not being able to walk. He might be annoyed that he appears invisible. He could be enjoying the beauty of the architecture that everyone else misses due to their busy pace. Or he might be wishing he could be as mobile as the people around him are. Maybe he just stopped to think and none of the surroundings are in his mind. Or maybe he's panicking about the next part of his journey."
"It's a photograph that makes you think and it's this sort of multi angle photograph that could easily be used as illustration to a news article on many subjects surrounding disabilities. The square crop and black & white conversion makes the composition and dynamism stronger."
POTW winners currently receive a £100 voucher from Pixum online photo printing
