ePHOTOzine member Tynnwrlluniau
is this week's Photo of the Week (POTW) winner.
The POTW is picked by ePHOTOzine's founder and Editorial Director, Peter Bargh, once a week and here's why he thought Tynnwrlluniau
's shot, 'Northumberland Dawn' was a worthy winner:
"When viewed from a close range, Bamburgh castle dominates the Northumberland landscape, but using a wide angle and viewing from a more distant spot allows the coastline to take over, while still giving the castle some prominence in the photo. It's a technique used by many landscape photographers, but few capture the balance that this one does of castle and its surrounds.
What's special is the way the colours of the beautiful sunrise have been mirrored in the coastal waters and the spot of sunlight just behind the castle allowing it to silhouette perfectly against the colourful sky. The slow shutter speed ensures the waves have enough motion in them as they find their way around the low level foreground rocks. Seaweed adds another texture to the foreground while providing natural framing to the base of the photo. Stunning!"
POTW winners currently receive a £100 voucher from Albelli
