Press Release: Epson EMP-6110 digital projector
Leading projector manufacturer, Epson announces the new EMP-6110; a projector engineered to provide outstanding audio-visual quality combined with unrivalled durability. The robust EMP-6110 is designed to perform in large, dusty environments, utilising Epson’s unique filtration technology.

Incorporating Epson’s patented 3LCD technology and a high-brightness 3500 ANSI lumens lamp, the new projector offers excellent picture quality even in larger rooms. The EMP-6110 boasts a lamp-life expectancy of 3500 hours in high-brightness mode, ensuring the product is both easy and economical to maintain. The unit’s capacity to function unimpaired within harsh AV environments – including areas with a high density of airborne particles – derives from Epson’s unique, cleanable, electrostatically charged air filter that is easily removed, cleaned and replaced without the need for specialist skills or removing the unit from its ceiling-mount.

Graeme Davidson, Product Manager, Business Projectors, Epson UK commented: “Epson designed the EMP-6110 specifically for more challenging environments such as factories, workshops and technology or art classrooms. The sealed casing on the projector, long lamp-life and innovative air filter design mean the projector requires very little maintenance. This makes it the projector of choice for challenging installations such as high ceilings where hands-on maintenance can be more demanding.”

The EMP-6110 has been designed to make necessary maintenance as easy as possible. The filter can be easily removed and cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. Epson’s exclusive on-screen cleaning notification function is capable of sensing a clogged filter in advance by monitoring the airflow and not just the temperature of the projector thereby avoiding any damage or downtime caused by poor maintenance. Remote monitoring and diagnostic assessment is made possible thanks to the Epson EasyMP software included with every EMP-6110. Epson’s EasyMP network monitoring technology gives advance notice of any potential maintenance required, eliminating the expense, inconvenience and time spent solving any problems after they occur. A web browser generates email alerts and provides essential information including the temperature status or when air filters or projector lamps need to be changed. This ensures the maintenance person is aware of the problem before they visit the projector. The system can even be configured to send a ‘lamp-life warning’ message to the person responsible for purchasing so they can ensure they order a new lamp in readiness. The same EasyMP technology can also be used to remotely power on and off individual projectors or the whole fleet as required or at a pre-programmed time. This ensures that projectors are not left running overnight wasting energy and using up lamp hours.

Ecological and environmental advantages are also a major feature of the new projector due for launch in February 2008. Already an energy-efficient unit, the projector also has an economy mode in which lamp-life increases to 4000 hours, reducing both lamp replacement costs and the EMP-6110’s impact on the environment. Every EMP-6110 also comes complete with a free of charge TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) pack, which includes a ceiling mount, spare lamp and dust filter. This provides users with everything required for long-term, trouble free, operation.

The EMP-6110 is a native XGA resolution model at 1024 x 768 resolution and also supports VGA and UXGA. The projector also includes an in-built 5W speaker meaning multimedia presentations do not require external speakers or sound systems.
