Epson XP750 and XP850

Epson have launched two A4, ultra-compact inkjet printers that feature six-colour photo ink sets.

The Epson Expression Photo XP-850 and XP-750 use Epson’s new six-colour Claria Photo HD Ink as well as a motorised control panel and output tray, which open automatically before printing so all users have to do is collect their printouts. The six-colour ink set (black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta) delivers smooth tonal gradations, deep blacks and rich, vibrant colours.

Both Expression Photo printers offer remote printing with Epson Connect3 (Epson iPrint, Epson Email Print, Remote Print Driver and Scan-to-Cloud). This service allows users to print wirelessly from smartphones and tablet PCs using Epson iPrint, and print from anywhere in the world, by emailing directly to the printer’s unique email address. The Remote Print Driver offers users greater flexibility to customise print jobs via their computer’s printer driver before sending them to print from anywhere. Scan-to-Cloud enables users to store and share scanned documents directly in Cloud services, and send to any email address or other Epson Connect printer. Printers are also Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint ready.

With automatic Wi-Fi set-up4, users don’t need to know their network settings or connect with a USB cable during initial set up, as the printer automatically finds the relevant connection settings to configure itself. In addition, Wi-Fi Direct allows the printer to connect directly to other Wi-Fi devices without the need for a wireless access point, such as a router.

The rear speciality media feed allows printing onto card and heavyweight photo paper while the dual front-loading paper trays enable users to switch between photo-sized and A4-sized printing. These printers also allow users to print directly onto suitable CDs and DVDs. Both printers support duplex printing, while the XP-850 also features a duplex ADF for double-sided scanning, copying and faxing.

The Expression Photo XP-850 and XP-750 are available from November, priced at £249.99 and £229.99 respectively.
