A dispute between Epson and UK based cartridge maker Dynamic Casette International (DCI) has been settled out of court.

Epson had alleged that DCI infringed certain patents associated with Epson printer cartridges. Epson stated: "As part of the settlement DCI has ceased to manufacture new cartridges which are compatible with Epson printers."

Robert Clark, Vice President of Epson Europe, said: "We invest heavily in research and development to ensure that our customers receive the best possible imaging results from our products. As a business we are committed to protecting our investments, assets and our resulting products and technologies, the world over."

Other terms of the settlement have not been made public.

Another printer I wont be using then!

Printer companies could give the devices away for the money they make on ink monopolies.
