Extensis, a brand of Celartem, Inc., today announced a strategic technology partnership with, Equilibrium, the leading provider of automation software for rich media distribution. Following Extensis’ recent capital investment in Equilibrium, this is the first strategic technology partnership between Extensis’ Digital Asset Management product line (Portfolio) and Equilibrium’s MediaRich product line. In this technology partnership, Extensis will OEM Equilibrium’s MediaRich engine for integration into a future release of Extensis Portfolio Server.

“Integrating Equilibrium’s powerful and rich media asset engine into our digital asset management solution will strengthen Portfolio’s capabilities to deliver rich media on-demand for our customers evolving needs,” said Brian Berson, Extensis General Manager. “The MediaRich engine will offer a more stable, scalable and faster solution while providing overall improved imaging capabilities from Portfolio and also add robust accelerated support of new file types and self service media processing capabilities in the future.”

This partnership extends Extensis’ commitment to the Digital Asset Management (DAM) market through continued product development and greater overall product utility. Equilibrium’s powerful MediaRich media asset engine offers Portfolio users the ability to automate image, animation, sound and digital video production.

”We’re pleased that Extensis has chosen Equilibrium’s patented MediaRich CORE technology to power Portfolio’s image, audio and video production and processing,” said Sean Barger, CEO of Equilibrium. “The over two hundred man-years of research and development in MediaRich will help expand the functionality of Portfolio so that both existing and new customers will gain significant benefits.”

Extensis announced a capital investment into Equilibrium in April of this year.
