Extensis today announced they will offer a free Portfolio 5 update to support access to PowerFiles C200 CD/DVD Jukebox system. With this updater, Portfolio 5 owners will have the ability to randomly access 200 CDs from their PowerFile CD/DVD jukebox. This is the first CD/DVD jukebox system for which Portfolio offers seamless and direct support.
The updater will be free of charge to registered Portfolio 5 users, and will be available in August through the Extensis web site at www.extensis.com.
"The ability to randomly access 200 CDs worth of images has made the PowerFile very popular with our graphics professional customers. By adding Portfolio to the system, users can have near effortless access to more than 100Gbs of data," says Joseph Schorr, Portfolio product manager for Extensis. "This is a perfect example of Extensis responding to the needs of our customers."
Schorr also explains that by integrating support into Portfolio, users can simply click on a thumbnail or do a keyword search to retrieve files from any of the CDs in their jukebox. The update also allows users to automatically catalog each CD already stored in the PowerFile jukebox.
"As many of PowerFiles customers are graphics professionals with digital files they need to catalogue and then access repeatedly, Extensis Portfolio is the perfect interface through which to catalogue and access their files from our C200 CD/DVD Jukebox," says Brady Bargenquast, C200 project manager for PowerFile.
