Fujifilm FinePix X100 shortage - The popularity of the Fujifilm FinePix X100 has taken Fujifilm Japan by surprise.

It seems the Fujifilm FinePix X100 has turned out to be more popular than Fujifilm first anticipated as stocks of the camera are already running low.
Fujifilm Japan have released a statement today saying they have received more orders than they first anticipated and they have apologised for the late deliveries. Fujifilm do say they are increasing production of the popular model and getting the cameras out to customers is their top priority.

Fujifilm FinePix X100 shortage - The popularity of the Fujifilm FinePix X100 "has took" Fujifilm Japan by surprise.
Do you think the bad English usage could be corrected? It should be "has taken Fujifilm" Japan by surprise or leave out "has" and just say "took Fujifilm" Japan by surprise.
