Fujifilm Finepix Z10fd - SNAP SHOT REVIEW - Matt Grayson looks at the style conscious Fuji Finepix Z10fd whilst looking for a belt to compliment his coal sack.
The Finepix Z10fd is a camera heavily steeped in style and design. Offering 7.2Mp, 3x optical zoom and a 2.5in LCD screen.

Available in a rainbow of different colours, it appears that the Z10fd has been designed and marketed at the younger generation of internet sharers. However, there is an absence of transfer options with only traditional USB and infrared available.
The lens is covered by a large sliding cover and this will power the camera up when opened. The 2.5in LCD screen dominates much of the back of the camera and with the zoom and menu occupying the remainder, the camera looks neat and tidy.
The specification is underwhelming. Only one Metering mode, 3x optical zoom and one focusing mode to name a few mediocre areas. On the plus side, it has 21 preset modes, a slideshow option for your pictures, approximately 100% coverage of the screen and the ability to use SD cards as well as xD picture cards.
Suitable for: Younger people, Internet video sharing
What everyone else says:
CNET: "The Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd stands and falls by its styling, and in a world of grey snappers its rainbow colouring and nu-rave marketing makes it stand out."
Cameras.co.uk: "If picture quality is not the be all and end all then the Fuji Finepix Z10 fd could be of interest to you. This is especially true if you are looking for a camera that is easy to use."
Digital Camera Review: "For snapshots intended to be shared with friends and family, the Z10 is probably strong enough, and compared to other high-style ultra-compacts the price alone may be appealing."
Fuji Finepix Z10fd Our verdict
Personally, I think the cameras design has made it look a little odd, which is down to the downward curve at the right end. It has been designed for the style conscious and those who want their gadgets to stand out, hence the vibrant colours. A larger zoom could easily have been fitted and more features could have been added.
If you are part of the fashion obsessed, style focused, picture sharing generation, then this camera has been designed for you.
