Fujifilm USA has released a statement in regards to the flare effect some users have reported on X-T1
cameras in the USA.
In the statement
, Fujfilm USA says the 'flare effect' is only applicable with a limited number of early produced X-T1 cameras as recently produced X-T1 cameras have already been modified. As a result, photographers who have purchased an X-T1 camera from an authorised Fujifilm dealer in the United States and have a serial number on their X-T1 which is lower than 41A05201, they can contact the Fujifilm Repair Center to make arrangements to have their camera checked and, if needed, repaired for free.
Fujifilm USA says: "We apologise to any of our loyal customers that may be affected by this inconvenience. Now that we have discovered this issue, we want to act quickly and proactively to check your camera, and to make repairs to prevent the potential "flare effect" if and as necessary."
Fujifilm is not the only camera brand suffering with light leak issues as it was reported last week
that recent tests have found that the Sony a7
cameras are also having light leak issues and Sony says they are 'currently investigating the concerns that have been raised.'
