Press Release: Garden Photographer of the Year Collection 01

The Garden Photographer of the Year have launched Collection 01, an outstanding collection of winning garden photographs from AA Publishing.

This inspiring collection of photographs brings together the very best entries from the first international Garden Photographer of the Year competition into a stunning book.

Thousands of photographs were submitted to the first ever international Garden Photographer of the Year competition earlier in the year. The entries were truly international, with photographs submitted from as far afield as Hawaii, Japan and New England.

The panel of eleven judges, which included renowned garden photographer Clive Nichols and TV’s Chris Beardshaw, had the unenviable task of selecting the finalists from the thousands of entries.

AA Publishing have produced a beautiful illustrated companion which captures these inspiring finalist images and includes more commended photographs from all of the competition categories: Trees, Plant Portraits, Garden Views, My Garden and Life in the Garden – as well as a special category for the Under 16s, Young Garden Photographer of the Year.

The Finalists’ photographs will be showcased in a purpose-built outdoor exhibition at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew from 22nd May until September.

The competition for 2009 is now open with new categories including World Botanic Gardens and the Edible Garden. Full details of how to enter can be found at the website.
