Genesis Speedlight SP692

Calumet is offering UK photographers a chance to buy a high-specification external flashgun for around half the price of comparable units on the market.

The photographic retailer's Genesis Speedlight SP692 for Nikon and Canon cameras, priced at £149, is available now and boasts through-the-lens metering; 5600K colour temperature; power zoom function; LCD display and a fast recycle time of between two and five seconds.

Sian Hamer, Calumet marketing executive said: "Our new SP692 is perfect for photographers working on tight budgets. This new high performance flashgun has already received plaudits from photo-kit reviewers for its outstanding value for money benefits. It’s an ideal flashgun option for photographers working both in and out of the studio.

This Speedlight can be used as an on-camera flash as well as a master unit or slave unit in a wireless, multiple Speedlight system to achieve TTL and manual flash."

She added: "The unit’s backlit LCD screen is a useful feature for photographers shooting in dark conditions and of course this flashgun can be triggered wirelessly."

The SP692 also benefits from thermal circuit protection which allows extensive use without overheating challenges and keys can be locked to prevent accidental settings changes. Additionally an external power pack can be connected to extend battery life and a PC socket allows the flash to be triggered off camera.
