A popular geotagging iPhone app can now record the date as well as the location you took your shot at. The gps4cam app is also easier to use thanks to the guided tour and an integrated FAQ.

The App works with all camera brands and you don't have to manually synchronise your camera and your iPhone as the QR Code the app uses automatically syncs the iPhone clock with your camera's clock. You can also use gps4cam without connecting to a network.

"We believe that the essence of photography lies in keeping memories, and that's what gps4cam is all about," said Michael Diguet, the creator of gps4cam. "I had the idea of gps4cam when I was watching an old family photo album. I asked my mother where the pictures had been taken, but unfortunately she couldn't remember all locations."

gps4cam is now available for £1.79 from the Apple App Store.

Without a doubt, one of the most useful iPhone apps I have used. I was looking for a hotshoe Gps attachment which looked like it was proving expensive, until I found this app. The technology is amazing and the way the software detects the Qcode amongst your photographs is mind blowing. The only limit is remembering to start the app when you go out on location, and then remembering that it will use quite a lot of battery power.

Fantastic though- worth way more than the 1.59 that these guys charge.

I've just downloaded the Android version and I'm having problems with the accuracy. Sometimes it's fine others it can be 500-600yards away from where it should be.
Even though it's only 1.99, I'm not impressed so far
