We spoke to GE who say 2012 is set to be an exciting year with a new range of products aimed at improving image quality, speed and performance thanks to high speed BSI CMOS sensors. They have also had good success with the ultra zoom bridge cameras and continue to invest in this area.

From the Pro series is the new GE X550 and X600. The X550 is an update to the X500, while the X600 is an all new 25x optical zoom lens bridge camera with a 14.4 megapixel sensor, image stabilisation, 2.7inch screen and Full HD video.

Other new cameras include the J1458W and E1410SW with 5x optical zoom and C1440W with 4x optical zoom.
