Sony were kind enough to give ePHOTOzine a more "hands on" look at the new Sony Alpha A700 replacement. Sony were also discussing the plans for four new NEX lenses, although details were unavailable.

Details of the new DSLR were also very limited - although some educated guesses could be formed by looking at the see-through body and camera design. They did confirm that it will use the Translucent technology as features in the A33 and A55. I'm guessing the new camera will use SD memory, and features a swivel screen on the back too.

If you have any suggestions on what the new camera might feature add your ideas to the Sony Alpha A700 Fourm Post.

What is the knob to the bottom-right (as seen from the front) of the lens mount? Anybody have a clue?

Still looks too large, but I'll take your word for it... (for now - might see if they have one at Focus on Wednesday!)

Does that trigger act as a shutter release?
