Hasselblad were showing their new Hasselblad H5D-50 Medium Format DSLR which they say is for studio and location photography. The 50 megapixel sensor produces images with a high 6132 x 8176 pixels resolution, and the sensor's physical dimensions are 36.7 x 49.1mm. Shutter speeds can be up to 128 seconds, and the camera shoots from ISO50 to ISO800 - the shutter speeds and ISO range available varies depending on the model chosen. Image raw file size is 65 MB with a 16 bit colour depth., or an optional print ready JPEG is available in 1/4 resolution. The screen is a 3 inch TFT type, with 24 bit colour and 460,320 pixels.

The H5D is available with a 40, 50, or 60 megapixel sensor as well as 50 or 200 megapixel multi-shot models - we had a look at the Hasselblad H4D-200ms previously. The Hasselblad H5D uses HC and HCD lenses, with the design led by Hasselblad's master lens designers in Gothenburg, Sweden, and production and assembly is carried out to their exact specifications by Fujifilm in Japan.

        This camera reminds me in looks of my vintage Olympus 2500L. But the comparisons don't end there - it has a similar ISO range and a equally impressive rear screen resolution.
