Hasselblad have announced an offer to existing V system customers wishing to 'Go Digital' which is intended to make the transition a little smoother. If you buy a Hasselblad V96C Digital Back between now and 31 July Hasselblad (UK) Limited will give your Hasselblad camera body a thorough service absolutely FREE! The offer relates to any 500 series camera from the C/M onwards (the 500C/M was launched in 1972 - so they are not excluding much!) and covers parts and labour. The only thing that isn't covered is physical damage or misuse; The Hasselblad V96C is a square format digital back with a 16mega-pixel chip which will produce images up to 96Mb. It comes with its own easy to use Flexcolor software which makes batch processing fast and efficient, or will convert the files to Adobe DNG format for processing in Photoshop.

Images are stored in the 'image Bank' - a secure hard drive which will hold 1150 files. This speeds up operation and allows almost continuous shooting without concern for storage. The V96C is designed specifically for the Hasselblad V system, and at |5,707 plus VAT it is the most affordable way into medium-format digital photography. Its important, however, to attach the back to a camera that is working well and has the correct calibration, both of which will be ensured during the service by Hasselblad trained technicians.

There are many Hasselblad cameras sitting in cupboards collecting dust whilst photographers experiment with DSLR cameras. Well now is the time to let Hasselblad dust them off and allow you to take that step forward into the 'Digital Age'!
