Hasselblad is bringing a hugely successful Shoot concept – launched as ShootNYC in New York five years ago – to The Old Truman brewery, Brick Lane, East London in E1 on 2 and 3 October 2013.
As part of the free and interactive professional seminar and product demonstration programme Hasselblad has arranged for one of the four original Hasselblad Lunar Surface cameras (as used in training by astronaut teams, including Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin) to be available at ShootLDN. Visitors to the event will be invited to step onto a special moon landscape set and capture themselves holding a piece of iconic photographic history.
Mark Witney, Hasselblad UK marketing and communications supervisor said: "ShootLDN is set to be the prime autumn focal point for not only professional photographers but also photo-assistants, advanced students and any imaging professionals who want to keep updated with cutting edge products and techniques now employed in the professional digital image capture market. In fact, even if you aren’t a pro ShootLDN will still be an inspirational event for photographers of all skill sets."
He added: "Shoot was launched by Hasselblad USA five years ago with a pledge to help construct a photographic community. Since then Shoot events have been held in Los Angeles, Paris and Amsterdam. Now the formula is coming to London. And it’s free."
ShootLDN will host a comprehensive programme of photography-related lectures and workshops run by leading industry professionals, including photographers; photo agencies; picture editors; model agencies and fashion houses.
Mark Witney said: "We will have numerous live shoots and demonstrations going on- and they will cover a wide range of photo-disciplines, including fashion; still life; cars; portraiture and weddings. And the venue is open plan so delegates can wander as they please, from one live shoot to the next, and engage with hands-on equipment opportunities as they go."
At the two day show Hasselblad event partners, broncolor, Wacom, Adobe, EIZO and Epson will showcase key products to assist photographers with every stage of workflow and a special Adobe Mini-Theatre will host hourly tutorials and demonstrations, covering Photoshop, Lightroom and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products.
Mark Witney added: "In addition to all this we will also showcase a gallery of images from our prestigious Hasselblad Masters competition – and visitors to the event will get a chance to mingle and chat with some of the Hasselblad Masters. Then, at our special (and free) social evening on Wednesday October 2 (6pm -10pm) photographers can rub shoulders with their contemporaries in a completely relaxed environment."
