Hoodman Hoodcrane

Press Release:

The HSLRM Cinema Strap was, and is intended to be a low cost method of keeping the big selling H-LPP3 3in HoodLoupe fixed onto a D-SLR body. It works and although it may not be the perfect product under certain working conditions it has and is a very worthwhile accessory for the HoodLoupe.

However, there is a strong demand for a more versatile and more accurate method of keeping the HoodLoupe on a 3in screen and here it is, the new Hoodman HoodCrane with a suggested price of £89.99 including VAT.

Using the camera’s hot shoe as an anchor point, the HoodCrane locks onto the HoodLoupe for perfect hands-free viewing, then when the viewfinder needs to be used for shooting stills or just a less critical view of the LCD screen is needed, the Hoodcrane just swings away. The Hoodcrane is fitted with a 'cold-shoe', so an accessory shoe is still available when using a DSLR and the HoodCrane.

The Hoodcrane is not just limited to use on DSLRs though, the increasing number of compact digital cameras that have a flash hotshoe mean it will also be useful for digiscopers taking their photos through spotting ‘scopes.

For more information please visit the Newpro website. You can buy the Hoodman Hoodcrane from the ePHOTOzine Shop for £79.99.

I think it looks great!

Very Heath-Robinson, maybe crossed with Terminator - does this means our DSLRs are going to develop sentience and independent thought, rise up and take over the world?

Surely this was meant for an April 1st release ?

I never fail to be impressed by the inventiveness of some people in their efforts to extract money from the pockets of the gullible...

And as daft as it looks like this, imagine how it will look if it's swung out of the way to takes stills Wink
