Horseman’s LD Digital SLR Platform

The LD is designed to bring the technical and creative possibilities of the traditional monorail to Nikon and Canon fit digital SLR bodies and will accept a wide variety of lenses that include large format film optics, dedicated digital lenses from Schneider and Rodenstock, Hasselblad V mount, and 645 and 6x7 lenses from Mamiya and Pentax.

Extensive camera movements are possible with the LD which features axis tilts and swings that are precisely at the image plane, and variable axis tilt which allows the photographer to position the tilt axis anywhere in the frame. Shooting images for stitching is can be done extremely accurately and is made very easy by virtue of the extremely precise rack and pinion geared rise/fall and shift mechanisms. The shortest lenses that can be used with the LD are the Schneider 28 Digitar and the Mamiya 35mm 645AFD lens. In the near future Horseman will be making available an adapter to allow the use of digital backs on the LD.

The LD makes an ideal platform for variety of applications where a digital SLR is used to tackle professional assignments from Architecture to table top still life, extending significantly the potential of Nikon and Canon digital SLR bodies.
