Image by Colin Roberts, 'Sea Thrift Flowers', Winner of IGPOTY4
International Garden Photographer of the Year has teamed up with The National Trust to create a brand new special award: ‘Changing Coastlines’.
Within the Breathing Spaces category of IGPOTY, which is currently sponsored by The National Trust, a new special award, ‘Changing Coastlines’, is to be added.
The award is for photography of the United Kingdom coastline and is looking to showcase images which illustrate the diverse nature of the coast, the plant life that depends on this environment, and the people who enjoy the open spaces - on holiday as well as those who call it home.
Images might include vulnerable sand dune flora, the effects of erosion on the landscape, or simple fragile beauty - whether that be migratory birds touching down, or butterflies balancing on a cliff top food plant.
Images must include aspects of plant life: The objective is to show how the coast plays host to a myriad of diverse and ancient relationships, enjoyed by both wild and human creatures.
There are gifts worth over £100 up for grabs for the winner. For more information and to enter now, take a look at the IGPOTY website.
