The first of three 'Photo project' categories in the 2013 International Garden Photographer of the Year competition is now open for entries. The theme is 'Monochrome' and the deadline for the competition is 30 April 2013.
Competition director Philip Smith said: "The monochrome category is all about the shapes and textures to be found in plants and gardens; it is also a powerful expression of our love for traditional photography. The images that are produced are always very distinctive and add a wonderful rich flavour to our exhibitions and books."
All winners receive a cash prize and two more 'Photo projects' with the themes of 'Macro Art' and 'Plants and Water' will open for entries later in the year.
