A photo a day... - A website featuring a collection of 6,697 Polaroid images taken every day for 18 years has been launched alongside a special exhibition.
A website has been put together to celebrate the life and photography of Jamie Livingston. Jamie was a New York based photographer and film maker who took a Polaroid photograph every day from March 31st 1979 until the day of his death on October 25th 1997.
The collection, named Polaroid a Day, shows gatherings with friends, achievements, his being diagnosed and dealing with cancer and subsequently getting engaged shortly before the his death aged 41 – all of which were documented on a Polaroid SX-70 camera.
Livingston's friends Hugh Crawford and Betsy Reid have now organised and posted the images on a special website. The photographs can also be seen at a special exhibition at Bard College, New York titled Jamie Livingston. Photo of the Day: 1979 – 1997. The exhibition features every photograph of the collection and takes up a 7 x 120ft area.
