Jobo Giga Vu Pro Evolution available soon in the UK
The Giga Vu pro Evolution, which we previously reported here, will be available from the end of April 2006 in 40GB, 80GB and 120GB sizes at 379.99 , 499.99 and 599.99 respectively from most professional photographic outlets.

Press Release:

The Jobo Giga Vu Pro (GVP) Evolution is powered by a high speed AMD Alchemy Au1200 processor and 128MB of DDR SDRAM, producing download speeds as low as 5 or 6 minutes from a full 4GB CF card, making it the fastest device available and an attractive proposition for all location photographers.

The 3.7 inch super bright high resolution screen on the GVP Evolution gives brightness levels nearly 3 times greater than competitive devices, and is comparable to desktop LCD monitors at 250cd/m2. The screen also has a wide gamut range with the ability to switch between Adobe RGB and sRGB colour spaces creating a class leading viewing experience on its 640x480 VGA resolution display.

During the download stage images can also be cached so even the biggest files appear instantly on the screen. When coupled with the GVP Evolutions limitless file size capability and RAW support for most cameras & digital backs, the GVP Evolution is an obvious replacement for laptops & notebooks in most location situations.

Jobos new GVP Evolution will also incorporate features which distinguished their original unit from its competitors such as optional WiFi and FTP support, Levels & Channels Display, Dust Detector and the ability to add copyright info, keywords & notes to the image Exif data, together with its tough design & floating hard drive.
