One of the UK’s top landscape photographers, John Gravett, is set to lead a spectacular photography holiday capturing the wonders of Yosemite National Park and its surrounding area this coming February.
The ten day Yosemite Firefall Photography Workshop takes place from the 13th to the 23rd of February and takes in the gold mining towns of Mariposa and Groveland, Yosemite National Park, El Capitan and the Half Dome, the Napa Valley and San Francisco, with expert guidance from John throughout.
Starting in the historic town of Mariposa in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the tour heads to Yosemite National Park for six days of exploring the ‘firefalls’ of Yosemite Falls at sunset, the spectacular rock formations, Bridal Falls and the amazing forest and meadow scenery.
A hike along the Merced River to Mirror Lake will take participants close to the base of the sheer 700 metre-high face of Half Dome before the group visits Groveland then heads west to San Francisco, stopping in Napa Valley along the way for an indulgent wine tasting and cheese picnic. The tour arrives into San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge, providing the best view of San Francisco Bay and the following day will be spent amongst the photographic highlights of the great city, including Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf.
With John’s professional tuition and a North American driver/guide, participants will be well looked after throughout this touring and sightseeing holiday and travel as well as accommodation in comfortable hotels and lodges is provided for the duration of the trip.
John Gravett, recognized as one of Britain's foremost landscape photographers, photographic tutors and authors, owns and runs Lakeland Photographic Holidays in Cumbria and this is one of a number of international workshops he will be leading in 2015.
The Yosemite Firefalls Workshop costs from £3495 per person including flights from the UK, all breakfasts and eight lunches. For further information and a detailed dossier, please visit the Lakeland Photographic Holidays website.
