Sadly, Darfur is seldom out of the news. Since the conflict began in the region of western Sudan in 2003, over 200,000 people have been killed and more than two million displaced.
Jon Nicholson decided to cover this but in a different way. Visiting Darfur in eraly July, Jon was imspired by women's journey by foot to get to refugee camps. He would photograph the soles of their feet and line up each individual photograph side by side, rather in the manner of Andy Warhols famous images.
Nicholson's idea was supported by the UN Populations Fund as well as Olympus. All images were taken on Olympus' latest SLR Range, including the E-410 and E-510.
