Hundreds of photographers nationwide will head for a giant marquee set in the grounds of a 14th century former Carmelite monastery on June 3 for what is being billed as 'The biggest event of the year for social photography'.

Calumet is following up on the huge success of its first 'BIG DAY' event in February when over 400 photographers descended on its Manchester branch to learn the secrets of doubling wedding business turnover.

Said Calumet MD Andy Morris: "Our BIG DAY 2 at The Priory, Hitchin, is the 'Can't Miss' event of the year for all portrait and wedding photographers keen to learn about building their businesses. We are working closely with major manufacturers to create a showcase of latest technology, both digital and traditional, superb 'on the day' product offers and discounts and back-to-back seminars that will be nothing short of spectacular. And it's all free of charge to photographers."

Explained Hans Wuurman, Calumet Merchandise Director: "We have lined up a sensational free seminar programme covering vital topics such as, colour management and calibration, lighting techniques-with free video for all attendees, Photoshop, Digital backs, Output Montage and business marketing.
Each overview will last about 30 minutes and the programme will run through the day. We urge all photographers to register online now and book their places."

He added: "Everyone who pre-registers with us will also be guaranteed free entry to a raffle for 500 worth of Calumet tripod equipment, a free 'Goodie' bag worth at least 50 and a free 'Brilliant' paper sample."

Calumet says there will be latest products from Kodak, Canon, Epson, Nikon, Spicer Hallfield, Leaf, Sigma and a special range from the UK's leading Photographic distributor, Johnson's Photopia.

The company has also pledged a special 'Deal on the Day' discount on all Calumet studio accessories.

The company will set up a studio in the marquee and a 'bride and groom' will be available between 1pm and 6pm for photographers who want to shoot personal portfolios.

Said Calumet marketing specialist Tony Hickman: "Hitchin town centre is the place to be on June 3.
BIG DAY 2 will provide a perfect jumping off point for the summer wedding season.
At the first BIG DAY we turned over the Manchester branch to just one supplier, Spicer Hallfield, and over 400 photographers turned up.
BIG DAY 2 will be hosting an array of imaging industry players - guaranteeing something for everyone."

He added: "The day starts at 11a.m. and runs through until 7pm. And apart from its key focus as the premier social photography event of the year, it's going to be a lot of fun too.
We have planned a barbecue, a jazz band, a mind-boggling 'close up' magician and of course there will be complimentary canaps and light refreshments.

All we ask is for photographers to register online now at www, pro-events.co.uk to make sure they can access the seminars that are key to them."
