Just Limited have launched a new Cap for cameras and lenses that helps to stop fungus growth in cameras.

Fungus growth in cameras and lenses due to excess moisture is a real problem and a very costly, difficult issue to rectify. This is because the fungus that forms between lens elements and on glass surfaces in humid dark environments is extremely difficult and sometimes impossible to remove.

The Optimal RH (relative humidity) for storing camera equipment is between 35% - 45%. But with the all too frequent damp conditions that our weather brings, it's very difficult to ensure that camera gear is stored safely. No one wants to dig out their spare camera equipment and find it full of mould!

To avoid this heart sinking scenario BRNO have developed dri+Caps. An innovative and inexpensive solution to fungus growth in camera equipment. BRNO dri+Caps absorb damaging moisture that can turn into mould, protecting sensitive camera equipment from ambient RH fluctuations, whether you’re at home or travelling in climates with heavy temperature changes.

The caps are available for Canon and Nikon, and there are three different kits to choose from. You can purchase a cap for your lens or your camera body, or you can purchase the dual kit, which contains both caps.

The dri+Cap holds a sachet of de-humidifier (dessicant), which absorbs any excess moisture, that would otherwise go straight into your equipment. The cap features rubber ‘O’ ring seals, ensuring an air-tight fit. The de-humidifier gel contains an indicator that changes from orange to green, showing you when a new sachet should be installed.
