Kata Dream Bag Challenge

Design the ultimate dream bag for photographers and you can win around £3,000 worth of photographic equipment in the Dream Bag Challenge, launched by Kata.

The prizes are a Canon 5D mk II, Gitzo Traveler kit and Litepanels MICROPRO. The competition is now open and the deadline is set for March 1st 2010.

Kata are pleased to announce the launch of the Dream Bag Challenge, a global competition to create the ultimate dream bag for one lucky photographer. The competition winner will see their design brought to life by Kata’s award-winning team and hand built exclusively for them. Not only that, but their personalised bag will be packed full of around £3,000 worth of top-end photographic kit including a Canon 5D mk II with two lenses, Gitzo Traveler kit and Litepanels MICROPRO.

Commenting on the competition, Andy Bennett, Product Manager for Kata, said, “At Kata we know a photographer’s bag is the keeper of his or her most precious kit, making it not just important but a highly personal choice. We know there’s no one perfect bag, because everyone’s different, which is why we try to create as many unique, specifically tailored designs as we can. With the dream bag competition we’re going one step further and giving one lucky photographer the chance to own the Holy Grail of bags – one that they have designed themselves!”

Kata prides itself on working closely with its customers, jobbing photographers and videographers, to design bags that fit their individual needs as closely as possible. Its R&D process involves consultation with customers and specially selected consultants at every step of the way. The Dream Bag Challenge is Kata’s way of throwing the doors open to as many people as possible to hear their thoughts about the ‘ultimate’ bag, as well as making the perfect bag a reality for one lucky person.

The best design will be selected by Kata’s head of R&D and a selection of professional photographers. It will be hand built exclusively for the designer and packed full of high-end kit including:

• Canon 5D mk II  + two Canon Lenses (24-105 EF L IS USM & 70-200 F/4.0 USM) 
• Gitzo Traveler kit (tripod plus head)
• Litepanels MICROPRO
