Kodak Easyshare new products announced - Eastman Kodak Company introduce innovative new products to join their successful line of Easyshare printer docks
Kodak currently have the best-selling snapshot printers in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, collectively accounting for almost 75 per-cent of the worlds snapshot printer volume. Kodak's new products include the Kodak Easyshare Photo Printer 500 and the Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Plus Series 3. Both products allow for optional wireless printing via Wi-Fi technology - an industry first for dedicated snapshot printers.
The universal Kodak Easyshare Photo Printer 500 features a bright 3.5 inch LCD screen, the world's largest on a snapshot printer, and can be used by owners of virtually any brand of digital camera and recent camera phones, both with and without a computer. Users of the Easyshare Photo Printer 500 can view and edit their pictures on the huge LCD screen, which can be easily opened and closed to make it more convenient for moving around the home or taking on trips, and will also help to protect it from dust and dirt.
The Photo Printer 500 produces real Kodak pictures easily, directly and consistently from virtually any digital media, including most popular memory cards (for example, SD, MMC, CF, xD and Memory Stick), USB flash memory devices, PictBridge enabled digital cameras, mobile devices enabled with Bluetooth wireless technology and Wi-Fi enabled computers (optional KODAK Wi-Fi card required for the printer). Pictures are enhanced with Kodak Perfect Touch Technology to automatically deliver better pictures without the need to master complex menu structures. Red-eye reduction is also available at the touch of a button.
The Easyshare line of printer docks offer true one-touch simplicity with no need to connect a cable between the camera and printer. The new Easyshare Printer Dock Plus Series 3 is a fast, simple way to get real Kodak pictures at home. It is designed for use with Kodak Easyshare and ImageLink print system enabled digital cameras (with or without a computer) and for the first time, delivers automated Kodak Perfect Touch Technology to home printing. All users need to do to achieve great pictures in as little as 60 seconds is simply place the camera on the dock and press the print button, then just wait for their pictures to appear.
Wireless compatibility simplifies connections to picture-taking and viewing devices, as does support for ImageLink and PictBridge technologies. A built-in SD/MMC card reader and optional 8-in-1 card reader provides additional picture input options. Using printer docks further simplifies the digital photography experience. Owners of Kodak Easyshare digital cameras can benefit from one-touch picture transfer to a connected computer, the convenience of rapid, in-camera battery recharging in 3.5 hours or less and reconditioning for optional Kodak Ni-MH rechargeable batteries to maximise their capacity.
Commenting on the new products, David A. Hughes, Category Sales Director, DSC and Home Printing, Eastman Kodak Company, said: Kodak innovation is making it even easier for anyone, regardless of their camera or mobile device brand, to print and share real Kodak pictures as consistently, quickly and effortlessly as possible.
The Kodak Easyshare Photo Printer 500 has a recommended retail price of 149.99 and the Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock Plus Series 3 has an RRP of 129.99. Both products will be available in retail stores from October.
