Kodak P850 digital camera announced - As part of their new range of P-Series digital cameras, Kodak launch the Easyshare P850, a digital camera designed to make it easier than ever for amateur photographers to shoot like professionals.
Users of the P850 can maintain image sharpness without the use of a tripod, as the camera minimises camera shake at longer focal lengths. This makes the camera ideal for photographic purposes where using a tripod is often not an option, for example at sporting events, or on a scenic hiking trail. This feature also makes the camera an attractive option for people who enjoy taking spontaneous, everyday pictures, where carrying a tripod would be impractical.
Sharing many elements of its fellow P-Series camera, the more advanced P880, the P850 also has a 30 frames per second VGA video capability, with single-frame extraction and trim, cut, splice and merge editing abilities. Now with cutting-edge Motion JPEG technology you can record longer, TV-quality videos with sound - up to 80 minutes, depending on card capacity - while using less memory storage. The camera's bright, high-quality LCD makes working with, viewing and sharing videos simple. Easyshare Software version 5 (for Windows and Macintosh) is included with the P850, making it easy to combine, rotate, or even add music to your video clips. Easyshare Software also provides effortless organisation, editing, sharing and printing of your digital pictures.
Other features of the Kodak P850 are:
1) Unique hot shoe for extended lighting control
2) PASMC and extensive pre-set modes
3) Multiple burst modes for action shooting
4) A live histogram
5) Highlight/shadow clipping displays
6) RAW/TIFF/JPEG support
7) Lithium ion battery
8) Compatible with Easyshare printer docks - print real Kodak 4x6-inch pictures in just 60 seconds - and ImageLink print system
9) Pictbridge compatible for direct printing without a PC
To complement the new P-Series line of digital cameras, Kodak are introducing a range of accessories which are designed to help people who are serious about photography to express their creativity. This accessories range includes the Kodak P20 Zoom Flash. The P20's power, zoom head and bounce flash deliver greater lighting control to the included pop-up flashes or third-party flash units. Also in the range is a 1.4x Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar tele-converter and Kodak SD 1 Gb memory cards. Owners of the P850 digital camera can also add 55mm black and white polarising and neutral density filters, as well as the 0.7x Schneider_Kreuznach Xenar wide-angle accessory lens. P850 users can also connect to the Kodak Easyshare Gallery to share their images with friends and family all over the world.
The Kodak Easyshare P850 will be available from September 2005 for 349.99
