Kodak Professional and Photologic, in association with the Master Photographers Association, are proud to announce the Kodak Wedding & Portrait Awards 2008.

Open to all UK professional photographers, there is a consumer prize fund of £2,000, plus 20 Kodak digital cameras to be won. All entry fees, in their entirety, funds the continued good work at the PACE Centre in Aylesbury. Each £1 entry fee is being donated by MPA/Kodak to PACE.

The overall winning consumer for each of the Portrait and Wedding categories wins £1000. The overall winning photographers receive the title of Kodak Wedding or Portrait Photographer of the Year 2008, a certificate and trophy.

The finalist consumers win a Kodak digital camera and the finalist photographer receives a certificate. The finalist laboratory (if applicable) receives a certificate. The finalists will then go forward to the overall judging in September 2008.

Says Colin Buck, MPA chief executive, "This is the third year we have partnered with Kodak to bring these consumer awards to the industry. PACE is the MPA's chosen charity and is tailored to the individual needs of children with physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy. The Kodak Wedding & Portrait Awards are open to any professional photographer, irrespective of the association they belong to. There is no limit to the number of entries and the fabulous prizes should help you generate additional customers for your studio."

This year, publicity is part of the package... and it's free for the winners. Both of the two overall winners will receive a bespoke publicity package from leading photo industry PR agency WPS Media.

The Kodak/MPA Wedding & Portrait Awards 2008 has two Judgings - June and September 2008. Closing dates for entries are 31 May and 30 August 2008. There will be five finalists in each of the two categories.
