Leica has announced a new compact camera called the Leica C.
The Leica C features a 12 megapixel 1/1.7" MOS sensor with a 7x optical zoom, 28-200mm 35mm equivalent f/2-5.9 Vario-Summicron lens. It also features integrated Wi-Fi and full HD video.
The Leica C has an unusually large sensor for a compact camera, allowing for sharp pictures with good contrast. Fast autofocus and a burst rate of up to 10 frames per second in continous shooting mode allow for even the tiniest details to be captured.
The camera comes with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, which Leica say optimally develops the RAW image files from the sensor of the Leica C in the best possible quality.
There are a wide variety of accessories available for the Leica C, including bags, cases and straps. The camera is available in light gold and dark red, and will be available in mid-September for £550.
