The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland is running a photography contest with more than 10,000 Euros in prize money up for grabs.
The competition is based around the development challenges of the poor countries and those undergoing political transformation and it has four categories:
- Water – the source of life and health
- Education and entrepreneurship – the key to a better life
- The influence of the natural environment on human life
- Photo essay – concerning one of the Contest categories above
The Works submitted to the contest should present the daily life, culture and problems of the people living in developing countries - countries which qualify for the Official Development Assistance (ODA) according to the classification of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Photographers can submit three pieces of work for each of the first three categories. The photo essay requires photographers to submit one portfolio which consists of 3 to 6 photographs. No more than 10 works can be entered in all categories.
All works must be saved in JPG format. The files submitted to the Contest should not exceed 2MB, and the longer side of each photo should not exceed 2000 pixels. You can enter the competition here: Photo 2011
