Samsung NX300 Smart Camera last night held a charity auction together with David Bailey and Marie Curie Cancer Care Ambassador Heather Kerzner at London’s Bulgari Hotel. The evening included an auction of five exclusive David Bailey prints - including a never-seen-before photo of Kate Moss, taken by David Bailey in 1996.
The star-studded bash which was hosted by Heather Kerzner and David Bailey, was attended by a raft of celebrity talent and London society who came together to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, including Kate Moss herself. Other attendees included Sir Philip Green, Sarah Ferguson with her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Kimberley Garner, Graham Norton and Scott Young.
As well as the five photographs donated by David Bailey, which sold for £46,500, the auction featured another ten images taken by six of David Bailey's namesakes who were recruited by Samsung last year in a campaign that aimed to show the professional quality and simplicity of its new NX Smart Camera range. These sold for £4,700 and another £13,000 of pledges were made, taking the grand total raised from the auction to £64,200.
Each photograph, excluding the Kate Moss print, was taken on a Samsung NX300 Smart Camera and captures the essence of 'speed,' the brief given to each photographer to tell the story behind Samsung’s fastest ever smart camera.
