Lomography film scanner

Lomography has launched a smartphone film scanner, that enables you to instantly scan and share 35mm films using your smartphone.

The film scanner is due to be shipped in March, and is currently available for pre sale via Kickstarter.

The scanner is designed with a direct light panel which illuminates your film, so scanning each film is made as easy as capturing a photo on your phone. It scans at a quality perfectly capable for archiving, sharing and printing too.

The Smartphone Film Scanner is compatible with all iPhone models and many Android Smartphones too*. It works together with a free integrated Lomoscanner App. The Lomoscanner App allows you to edit negative scans into positives, stitch together panoramas (photos taken with the Horizon and Spinner 360° cameras, for example) and animate 35mm analogue movies shot using the LomoKino.

Due to its small size, the Smartphone Film Scanner can easily be transported. Whilst it is possible to scan your films using a backlit photo scanner, these scanners are large and cumbersome. The Smartphone Film Scanner is small enough to fit in your bag, allowing you to scan films away from home.

The Smartphone Film Scanner allows you to scan all different kinds of 35mm film. You can easily scan color negative, color slide and black & white films.

Visit the Kickstarter website today to find out more.

*Please Note: We have tested the scanner using some Android phones but are confident it will work with any smartphones which have the camera in the upper side / corner.
