Lowepro has announced a four year partnership with UK landscape photographer Colin Prior.

The headline sponsorship – the first ever on this scale for Lowepro – will support Colin’s ultimate dream to explore and photograph the extremely remote Karakoram mountain range in Pakistan.

Colin said: "My first trip to the Karakoram Mountains in 1996, made such an impression on my mind that they have haunted my dreams ever since. Scarcely, does a day pass when I don’t think about being there. It is an exciting prospect to finally have the opportunity to fulfil my life’s dream and to create a body of work, which I hope will inspire those who see it and to celebrate what I believe to be the most dramatic landscape on Earth."

Karakoram range, in the north of Pakistan, contains the greatest concentration of the world’s highest peaks with four of the planet’s fourteen 8000 metre summits situated round the central Baltoro Glacier. This vertical landscape is the ultimate test for the landscape photographer and over the next four years, it is Colin’s intention to document this amazing region in a way never previously attempted.

Loraine Morgan, Senior Marketing Manager for Lowepro said: "Rarely do we get chance to support a photographic project of such global significance and we’re delighted to partner with Colin, with whom we’ve already worked for many years."

The project will culminate in a book and exhibition as well as events, shows and extensive online activity spanning the 4 year project and beyond.
