Lightweight photography - Manfrotto have announced the release of a new monopod to keep action videographers light on their feet
Press Release:
Wedding videographers and sports photographers are now able to enjoy superior support, whilst remaining light on their feet with the introduction of the latest Manfrotto fluid monopod.
Following the success of its 560B model - the first fluid monopod designed for thevideography market - Manfrotto has now launched the new 561B; another high-performing fluid monopod designed specifically for the pro videographer.
Made from aluminium, and designed for use with DV and HDV cameras, the 561B is a four-section monopod equipped with a fluid head that is able to support a load up to 4Kg. Its key feature is the fluid cartridge incorporated into the base to give an incredibly smooth panning action.
While maintaining the 560Bs compact, lightweight and portable nature, the new 561B is a stronger, taller, fluid monopod that is able to extend from a compact 76cm when carried to an impressive 200cm. Designed with three retractable feet to ensure a firm footing, the 561B helps videographers get superior images when space is at a premium and is ideal for shooting footage over crowds.
In addition, the fluid video head (701 version) features a new sliding plate which was made specifically for this model. With an ergonomic pan-bar, it allows for smooth panning and tilting movements. Small and lightweight, this video head is ideal when combined with the high performance of the 561B monopod.
Meanwhile, for heavier loads up to 8Kg, Manfrotto has also launched the 562B fluid monopod. Designed with the same key features as the 561B, the 562B also has four sections, a fluid cartridge at its base and is compact when closed. However, instead of a video head, the 562B features a 357PLV sliding camera plate adapter to adjust the camera's centre of balance, which makes this monopod ideal for heavier video cameras.
