Manfrotto has announced the winners of the Imagine More competition, with over 7000 entries from all over the world.

From Manfrotto – The very first Imagination Manifesto has been unveiled following contributions from people around the world on Twitter, Facebook and dedicated micro-site manfrottoimaginemore.com. The Manifesto defines imagination in both text and image, creating a global blueprint for creativity.

Earlier this summer, Manfrotto announced the five winners who had posted the most striking tweets about imagination during the first phase of the contest. Today, Manfrotto announces the winners of the photography contest whose images offer the best visual representation of imagination.

Over 7,000 photographs inspired by the theme were uploaded to manfrottoimaginemore.com. Voting was opened to the public, and the images that received the most votes online were reviewed by an international jury, which then chose the seven winning shots.

The photographers from around the world will receive a prestigious prize: their images will play a major role in the creation and content of a short film entitled “Imagine More Manifesto” directed by Pulitzer Prize-winning director and photojournalist Bill Frakes. The film is set to be presented on 6 September at the 2011 Venice Film Festival.

The photographers of the winning images are:
Yongping Chen - China
Emma Cross – UK
Jana Erb - Germany
Jana Benjamin Navratilova – USA
Ilaria La Preziosa - Italy
Marion Ruszniewski – France
Yim Kam Wai - Hong Kong

In the new age of social networks and digital communication, Manfrotto – a leader in photographic supports and accessories – has turned to a new form of expression, rewarding the winners of both the written and photographic competitions with an exclusive trip to Venice for the 2011 Film Festival. During the event creative photographers will attend the premiere the short film created with their contribution, alongside Bill Frakes and the premiere’s patroness, Violante Placido, best known for appearing alongside George Clooney in The American and forthcoming Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance with Nicholas Cage.

Seems a bit odd for ePhotozine to be promoting a competition that waives moral rights ~ surely ePhotozine not be supporting such things?!!...
