Press Release: Martin Hallam wins industry awards

It’s one thing to win a prestigious award from the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP), but Stockport-based photographer Martin Hallam has eclipsed that achievement by scooping no less than 17 such awards in the BIPP’s northwest regional category.

Martin - who is senior photographer at Stockport-based Son-of-a-Gun photography (a division of Mda:creative Ltd) – learned of his success when the results were announced recently. In addition to the accolade of North West Region Commercial Photographer of the Year, Martin also took a number of other awards including a third placing in the North West Region Professional Photographer of the Year category, Gold Awards for the Advertising & Commercial and Industrial & Scientific categories, plus numerous Merit Awards in other areas such as Fashion & Beauty and Fine Art/Pictorial.

“My day-to-day work can take in all types of photography,” explains Martin, who has travelled as far afield as Africa on location shoots. “I can find myself working with all sorts of subjects from people and room sets through to buildings and children’s toys so it’s particularly pleasing to receive awards in the various different categories”

Martin has made something of a habit out of scooping BIPP awards, having picked up numerous trophies in the three years prior to this latest success.
