Max Mara hosts a photographic celebration of Italian modernist photography - Images from the RIBA British Architectural Library Photographs Collection will be displayed from 4th to the 13th May 2006 at Max Mara store, 19-21 Old Bond Street, W1

The similarities between fashion, photography and architecture are self-evident: each discipline requires vision, a great concept, creative use of materials, and significant attention to detail. In celebration of this natural synergy, Max Mara and the RIBA are delighted to be collaborating on Italian Modern, an architectural photography exhibition designed specifically for the Max Mara store on Bond Street.
The Italian Modern exhibition will focus on Italian Rationalism, a highly developed response to the Modernist agenda of the 1930s. The exhibition will feature outstanding photographs which epitomise the era - all from the RIBA British Architectural Library Photographs Collection - including work by architects Pietro Lingeri and Pier Luigi Nervi.
Embracing themes ranging from travel (Cossato Railway Station) and great engineering works (the Dolomites Road), to recreation (Ugolino golf club and swimming pool, Florence), these evocative images of signature Italian projects will transport you on a journey through 1930s Italy.
Italian Modern is curated by the RIBA British Architectural Library Photographs Collection and designed by John McAslan + Partners, architect of the RIBA Award-winning Max Mara HQ, Reggio D'Emilia, Italy.
Max Mara is situated on Bond Street, London, W1. The store is open 10-6pm (Thursday 10 - 7pm).
