ePHOTOzine member is a hot shot - ePHOTOzine member's hot shots score her a two page spread in Digital Camera Magazine.
Congratulations to ePHOTOzine member Mamz Hu (aka pixy) who this month had her work published in the Hot Shots section of Digital Camera Magazine.
Mamz, who has only been a member of the site since January, began practising photography about seven months ago but has only more recently begun to get serious about her hobby.
“ePHOTOzine has been a great help. The forums in particular are great for asking questions and I often use them to find out information about lenses and other photographic equipment. Other members are always very friendly and helpful.”
Inspired by nature and fashion magazines, Mamz was published in Digital Camera after sending her images to the publishers. She then received confirmation that her work had been selected to be featured in the 'Hot Shots' section and would be appearing in the June edition of the magazine.
“It's an amazing feeling to be published”, says Mamz, who is only 17. “I believe it’s a great achievement to have someone recognise your work and display it in a magazine that so many people read, not just in England but around the world. It is one of the best feelings ever.”
At the moment she is not planning to pursue a career in photography but says it's something she may consider in the future. “Photography for me is a hobby, I have thought about maybe setting up a small photography company for fine art prints, but at the moment, it’s just something I do to relax.”
Another ePZ member also had his image featured in the same edition of hot shots. Sean Mitchell achieved Shot of the Month in the June edition with his image Through the Fence.
ePHOTOzine would like to congratulate Mamz and Sean on their achievements and wish them both the best of luck with their photography.
