Microtek comes of age! -
Founded in 1980 at the Hsinchu Science based Industrial Park, Taiwan, Microtek International Incorporated has grown from a small start-up team to a multi-national company with a well established distribution and network service all over the world and regional headquarters in the United States, Europe and Asia.
Since introducing the world's first desktop image scanner for personal computing in 1984, Microtek has maintained its pioneering tradition, and has focused its creative resources on the cutting edge of image processing technology. The company has continued to redefine the boundaries of scanning technology with the continous creation of significant products and innovations within the industry for the last two decades.
Emulsion Direct Imaging Technology (E.D.I.T) is Microtek's patented design
that comes as standard on it's professional range of scanners. E.D.I.T is
glass-free scanning for transparencies to eliminate Newton Rings, amongst other
undesirable blemishes that can appear on the scanned image.
The recent
introduction of the ScanMaker 5700 and the ScanMaker 8700 combine the latest
connection technologies with both USB and high-speed FireWire (IEEE1395)
ports.
Microtek have a comprehensive range of scanners to suit all end-user
needs from entry level right up to a complete scanning system for imaging
professionals. A 24 month warranty comes as standard with all the
models.
