Polaroid have launched a new instant digital camera, the Z2300.

The camera has a 10 megapixel sensor, a 3 inch screen and can produce prints of 3×2 inches. It uses ink-less Zink technology. This technology uses water resistant, smudge proof paper full of tiny transparent crystals. When heated up, these crystals change into three different colours, cyan, magenta and yellow, to create a picture in only one minute. As well as taking and printing photos, the camera also shoots HD video.

The camera is currently only available to pre-order from the US, at $159.99. It is available in Black or White. Visit Polaroid's website for more information.

Interesting, especially for those of us that had polaroid cameras way back in the late 1960's early 1970's

Presumably the print is heated up within the camera, and of course no horrible chemical swab like thing to wipe across the print after peeling back the backing paper.

Crucially, what will the cost-per-print be for us in the UK?
