New Epson Mobile And Cloud Printing Services

Epson is expanding its mobile and cloud printing services for those who use smartphones and tablet devices. The new services, called Epson Connect, will be available this autumn and it will allow photographers to print photos directly to their Epson printers* from a mobile device.

The new service includes Epson iPrint and Email Print. Epson iPrint is a print application for the latest iOS- and Android-based devices which lets you print by documents once connected to a Wi-Fi enabled printer. Email Print lets you print out electronic mail and file attachments by sending an e-mail from a smartphone or other mobile device to an enabled Epson printer. Epson plan on launching Email Print this Autumn while Epson iPrint version 2.0 for iOS and the Android version are already available**.

Epson have also announced that their major new inkjet printers will be Google Cloud Print ready from autumn 2011 while AirPrint wireless printing for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch will be supported by major new models of Epson inkjet printers from September 2011. AirPrint works with iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod touch (3rd generation and later) running using iOS 4.2 or later.
