General Imaging has announced three new digital cameras. Two of them, the G100 and E1410SW, feature the new Aptina A-Pix CMOS sensor for 10fps shooting and Full HD video, while another model, the J1456W is an entry level model with lithium ion battery.

These are the first GE digital cameras to feature advanced Aptina™ A-Pix™ CMOS pixel technology, which brings distinct performance enhancing features to the new GE cameras.

The new GE X500 Power Pro expands the 2011 Power Pro series range with 16 megapixels, 15x optical wide angle zoom and optical image stabilisation. The GE X500 is an outstanding camera with many of the most popular and advanced features found in larger, more expensive SLRs.

J1456W

The new J1456W expands the GE Smart series range and now offers consumers a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery model in the highly affordable, entry level category.

 The GE J1456W features:
  • 14 megapixels
  • 5X optical zoom,
  • a new 28mm wide-angle lens,
  • 2.7’’ LCD
  • 720p HD video recording
  • and over 20 individual scene modes, including Pancapture, image stabilisation and new sketch mode, new compact design
All four camera models will be on display during IFA Berlin in Hall X19, Booth 219 between 2- 7th, September 2011.

Meet the New 2011 GE Digital Cameras


GE G100 Power Pro:
(shown at the top) The GE G100 is a compact camera in the mega zoom category with 15X optical zoom, 14.4 megapixels and is the perfect option for the photography enthusiast moving from a point-and-shoot to a more powerful camera.

Aptina™ A-Pix™ CMOS pixel technology allows the G100 to shoot high-speed photos (10fps) and advanced high-performance 1080p Full-HD video. A built-in HDMI port allows users to connect the camera to a HDTV for instant sharing. The GE G100 is equipped with over 30 different shooting modes including manual exposure and all the must-have features GE digital cameras are known for, such as a large 3.0” high resolution LCD, optical image stabilisation and a 3200 ISO for more light sensitivity. Multi-Exposure, Object Tracking and HDR with image blending can all be found in the G100, available in Black, Red & White colour options in November 2011.

E1410SW

GE E1410SW Power Series: The GE E1410SW boasts 14.4 megapixels and 10X optical zoom in a slim and stylish design. This ultra-compact camera is ideal for anything from hiking trips to weekends in the city. The E1410SW is capable of taking sharp, multi-burst photos with increased shutter speed, a direct result of incorporating Aptina™ A-Pix™ CMOS pixel technology. Enhanced light sensitivity provides the best quality still images and the ability to take advanced, highperformance 1080p Full-HD video. The E1410SW also boasts a large 3.0” highresolution LCD, optical image stabilisation and a 3200 ISO for more light sensitivity. Multi-Exposure, Object Tracking and HDR with image blending This model is set to be released in November 2011 in a choice of four colours- Black, Red, Champagne & Brown.

GE X500 Power Pro Series: Building on the tremendous success of its first – and bestselling - GE X5 Power Pro “bridge” camera, the new GE X500 is even more powerful. The X500 features a 2.7’’ LCD as well as an Electronic View Finder, 16 megapixels, Optical Image Stabilisation, a powerful 15X optical zoom and 27mm Wide Angle Lens for clear, crisp pictures that bring you closer to the action. As easy to use as most point and shoot cameras, the GE X500 is an outstanding camera with many of the most popular and advanced features found in larger, more expensive SLRs. Advanced features like Manual, Shutter and Aperture Priority Exposure Modes; High Dynamic Range and Smile, Blink and Face Detection, make the X500 an attractive introduction to bridge cameras. GE J1456W Smart Series:
The GE J1456W adds a second rechargeable Lithium-ion battery model to the entry level Smart Series range. Difficult to comprehend how you can compare compact cameras with any DSLR to be honest!

Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax all make outstanding digital slr's it's how you use one that matters.
