Commercial photographers in need of a more versatile option for creating their signature "looks" now have it in a new, highly saturated fine-grain colour negative film from Kodak Professional.

Kodak Professional Portra 400UC (Ultra Colour) Colour Negative Film - developed with commercial, fashion, editorial, architecture, advertising and nature images in mind - achieves the high-colour "pop" and low grain typically associated with colour reversal films, while retaining the exceptional skin tones for which Portra films are well known.
Portra 400UC film further establishes Kodak Professional as the pre-eminent source for the broadest range of professional imaging solutions. It also supports two key Kodak growth strategies: to simplify imaging, and to extend the uses and the life of film as an imaging medium.

Best Colour Print Film for Commercial Photographer
The most recent member of Kodak Professional's family of popular Portra films has generous exposure latitude that delivers fine grain and natural skin tones even in challenging uncontrolled or mixed-illuminant environments - such as runways or on location - where a tungsten film would be necessary. Kodak Professional designed Portra 400UC film based on the knowledge that commercial photographers establish themselves based on the originality and creativity of the "look" they create in their images.

They most often require colour saturation, accuracy and "pop" in their images, as well as low grain that doesn't force them to compromise natural skin tones. Portra 400UC film delivers on all of those critical needs.
"Portra 400UC film offers these photographers another, a more versatile option in their photography palette," said Clare Bruce, KPro's UK Marketing Manager "While many photographers may not shoot at 400 speed for commercial applications, the film's grain position of 160 should allay any concerns about image quality. It's the best colour print film we make for the commercial photographer."

Portra 400UC film is excellent for scanning and easily integrates into digital workflows. It provides robust detail for retouching, which is critical for the commercial segment. Portra 400UC film also is versatile enough for use in portrait/wedding photography environments that would benefit from ultra colour images, such as in-studio portraiture or wedding candids.
As the newest member of Kodak Professional's family of Portra films - which provide a variety of speeds and colour saturations to meet the needs of almost any shooting situation - Portra 400UC film maintains the family hallmarks of wide-exposure latitude, true skin tones and single-channel printing for delivering quality-matched prints.

Unified Film Emulsion
All Kodak Professional Portra colour negative films are based on Kodak's breakthrough Unified Film Emulsion image science - to help ensure harmonious results from film-to-film and shoot-to-shoot. Continued investment in film research and development offers solid proof of Kodak's long-term commitment to the commercial film market.

Kodak Professional Portra 400UC Colour Negative Film, priced similarly with other Portra films, will be available in September from authorized dealers of Kodak Professional film products.
