The LEICA LRF 1200 RANGEMASTER by Leica Camera AG, Solms is a new laser rangefinder with a more powerful laser. Precision measurements are ensured up to a range of max. 1200 yards or 1097 meters. Even in unfavorable viewing conditions such as rain, bright sunshine or hazy weather, the new product with 7x finder magnification takes spot-on measurements. This is a particular advantage for hunting, playing golf or surveying, as even distance measurements just over 300 meters can be a problem with compact rangefinders in haze and mist. Due to the more powerful laser, the measurement process is also quicker than with the LEICA LRF 800 RANGEMASTER. This is particularly useful for moving targets. Optically and mechanically, the LEICA LRF 1200 RANGEMASTER is based on its successful predecessor, the LEICA LRF 800 RANGEMASTER. Leica Camera AG set standards in the laser rangefinder market with the LRF 800 RANGEMASTER. The product won many awards and enjoys a high reputation in hunting, for instance, says Stephan Albrecht, Product Manager for Sports Optics. The LRF 1200 RANGEMASTER is a result of our consistent development of this product segment.

The Rangemaster is operated on the proven one-button principle. The rangefinder works reliably even at twilight and in poor visibility and is activated by the press of a button. When the subject has been targeted, a further press of a button triggers the measurement.

This is done with an invisible, eye-safe laser beam. The measurement is accurate to one meter in a measurement range up to 400 m. The distance is calculated from the fractions of a second it takes the laser beam to travel from the rangemaster to the target, be reflected and travel back. The measured distance is displayed on the LED in the target optics, which automatically adapts to any changes in light conditions.

Another feature of the LEICA LRF 1200 RANGEMASTER is its large field of view of 112 m at a distance of 100 m. The product also offers diopter compensation and is suitable for eyeglass wearers.

The LEICA LRF 1200 RANGEMASTER is housed in a robust body with easy-grip rubber armoring that is specially designed for tough outdoor conditions and affords protection against spray water. Weighing only 320 grams with batteries and sporting a flat and compact design, it is a lightweight companion.

The LEICA LRF 1200 RANGEMASTER including case, battery and carrying strap will be on sale at Leica stockists' from February 2002.
