New Range Of BenQ Digital Cameras Announced - BenQ has announced a new range of digital cameras, including a compact camera with a bright f/1.8 lens and swivel screen.

BenQ has announced a range of new digital cameras, including the BenQ G1 with f/1.8 4.6x optical zoom lens, 3 inch 920k swivel screen, high speed continuous shooting, 14.1 megapixel Panasonic CMOS sensor, manual controls, and slow motion video recording. The camera has a number of digital filters and shooting modes, including handheld night shot, background defocus, MagiQ filter, HDR-art, sketch mode, colour filter effects and Oil-painting mode. The BenQ G1 will be available in black or white.

Other new models from BenQ include the following:

  • BenQ LR100 - 5x optical zoom lens, 14 megapixel Panasonic CMOS sensor, 5cm macro
  • BenQ GH200 - 12.5x optical zoom lens, 14 megapixel Sony CCD sensor, 1cm macro
  • BenQ LM100 - Waterproof, Shockproof, Freezeproof, 14 megapixel Panasonic CCD sensor

The problem is, if this company can be a leader or just play it safe (boring) as others...

LOL..Smile BenQ is part of the giant " Acer " company, They have been around in electronics for years, Some of the stuff they make is extremely high spec too, Now if they have tied the knot with a decent lens manufacturer, They will succeed in the same way as " Samsung " and others.

They have the knowledge, They have the production facilities, They are big enough to cut price the competition.....Grin

Boring? Maybe, But just how much more can be added to a camera product, Before it is no longer a camera, Perhaps a photo taking games machine, Like a baby X-Box or Playstation PSP.

That said when names like Kodak are struggling to survive, Whats coming next.....!!!

Lets face it, When digital hit the world of photography, The game changed forever.

I doubt there is any going back now, Despite the attempts of Holga & Tin Holes.....Wink
